Les Grèves overlooks the medieval city of Beaune and lies between Les Teurons and Les Toussaints. This is the largest premier cru vineyard in

Beaune with more than 30 hectares under vine including Bouchard Père's monopole L'Enfant Jesus. Ideally positioned mid-slope with an east

to south-easterly aspect the wines are noted for their elegance and balance. Les Grèves takes its name from "graviers" small pebbles or sandy

gravel found here in the clay-limestone soils.

Deeply colored and highly extracted in character displaying more than a touch of oak on the nose yet it is very rich with suave tannins if not

much nuance at the present. Tasty and displays solid finishing persistence plus an expansive sweetness that makes this difficult not to like

despite the aggressive extraction.
