Lavaux Saint-Jacques is the largest premier cru vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin with 9.53 hectares situated west of the village at the beginning
of the Combe de Lavaux. The Combe has a cooling effect on this south facing vineyard although there are temperature extremes, hot daytime
sun and cool night breezes, a contrast that suits Pinot Noir. The soil composition is similar to its neighbour Clos Saint-Jacques with thin stony
red-brown soils at the top of the plot while lower down the slope soils are deeper and finer-grained.
