Les Suchots is the largest premier cru climat in Vosne-Romanée covering an area of 13.08 hectares. It lies between the grand crus Echézeaux
on the north side and Romanée-St-Vivant and Richebourg to the south. Les Suchots consists of two contiguous parcels only separated by the
Route des Grand Crus. Here there are 38 individual plots with more than 20 owners. Facing east at an altitude of 250-270 metres on a gentle
incline, the soils are a rich clay-heavy marl, well-drained although depths vary, often solid rock is brought to the surface after ploughing.
Les Suchots is one of Vosne's best premier crus "an iron hand in a velvet glove" generally regarded as approaching grand cru level quality-wise.
